About FormatYard
FormatYard makes free tools that run right in your browser. The first ones are for CAD files, and more tool families will follow.

Why in the browser
Most online converters ask you to upload a file and wait for a server. FormatYard tools do the work on your own computer instead, so your drawings stay private, there is no queue, and there is no account or limit.
02
The note in your files
The image tools are free, so they ask for a little credit: each file they make carries the short note "Created with FormatYard.com", in the Software field where the format has one (JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, JPEG XL, TIFF), as a comment in GIF and SVG files, and as the maker of a PDF. It holds nothing about you or your photos. The EXIF remover is the one tool that takes it out, along with every other photo detail.
03
What works today
DWG to PDF turns every layout into a page at its own paper size. The DWG version converter saves a drawing for AutoCAD 2018 down to R14. DWG to DXF writes a DXF from 2018 down to 2000 for CNC, laser and other CAD programs.
04
How the tools are tested
The DWG and DXF converters are checked against an independent reader, the ODA File Converter, on a set of 130 test drawings from AutoCAD R13 to 2018, in every version they offer. DWG to PDF draws the same set and its pages are compared drawing by drawing. When a result has to change or leave out something, it says so on the screen.
05
Who makes it
FormatYard is made by the FormatYard Team, a small independent team. The software it is built on is listed on the licences page.
