v1.0 Updated 27 Oct 2026 What's new

One PDF holds many photos in a single file that opens the same on every computer and phone, which is what forms, schools and offices usually ask for. PNG, HEIC, WEBP and other pictures can go in too.

FAQ

Common questions

Short answers about what the PDF maker keeps and what stays private.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is made inside your browser, so your pictures are read and the pages are written on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server.

Which files can go into the PDF?

JPG, PNG, HEIC and HEIF photos from iPhones, camera RAW, PSD, TIFF, AVIF, WEBP, GIF, BMP and more, and PDFs too: each page of an added PDF goes in between your pictures, kept as it is, so its text stays sharp and can still be searched. Links, form fields and comments in an added PDF are not kept, and Colour, Smaller and Clean up change only the pictures. A PDF that is locked, even one that opens without asking for a password, has its pages drawn as pictures at 200 dpi instead.

Does my JPG lose quality?

No. With Pictures on Original, each JPG goes into the PDF exactly as it is, so the PDF is as small and as sharp as your photos. Only its photo details (the place, the date, the camera) are taken out. Smaller and Smallest write the photos again at a lower quality and size.

Can I keep the PDF under a size, like 10 MB for email?

Yes. Pick Max PDF size: the pictures that make the PDF too big are written again a little smaller until it fits. Pages from an added PDF keep their size.

Can I put several pictures on one page?

Yes. Pick 2, 4, 6, 9 or 12 under Pictures per page for photo sheets, receipts or ID cards. The page preview shows the layout before you download.

Which page size should I pick?

Picture size makes each page as big as its picture, using the picture's own DPI (a 300 dpi scan of an A4 page gives an A4 page). A4, US Letter, A3, A5, Legal and the others fit each picture on that sheet, with the margin you pick. Your own size takes any width and height in mm or inches.

How do I change the order or turn a picture?

Drag a row by its handle, or focus the handle and use the arrow keys. Sort puts the list in name or date order. The two arrows on a row turn that picture a quarter turn; the picture itself is not made again.

Can I lock the PDF with a password?

Yes. Type one under Password to open: the PDF is locked with AES-256 on your device, and every PDF reader asks for it. Keep it safe: if you forget it, no one can open the PDF, not us either. Apple Preview cannot open a password with accents, so use plain letters, numbers and symbols.

Can I make one PDF per picture?

Yes. Pick "One per picture" under PDF files, then download each PDF on its own or all of them in one ZIP.

Is there a limit?

No daily limit and no file size limit set by us. Very large pictures depend on how much memory your device has.

What is "Created with FormatYard.com" in my files?

Like the photo apps that write their own name, FormatYard writes this short note in each file it makes: in the Software field of a JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, JPEG XL or TIFF, as a comment in a GIF or SVG, and as the maker of a PDF. It holds nothing about you. To take it out, along with every other photo detail, use the EXIF remover.
